Player Evaluations are required for anyone playing in the Farm, Minors, or Majors divisions. All players in these divisions must attend at least one player evaluation session. These sessions will be held on Sunday, January 25 and Saturday, January 31 at the Sunnyvale Middle School softball field. Please see division times below:
Sun, Jan 25 Check In/Warm Up Evaluation
Check In/Warm Up Evaluation
The purpose of these evaluations is both to help our managers from balanced teams, and to ensure that players are in the division that is appropriate for their age and skill level. We strongly encourage all players to attend the first evaluation session, especially if you are moving to a new division, so that we can address any questions or concerns as early as possible.
During evaluations, all players will be asked to catch balls in the infield, throw from shortstop to first base, and hit balls from a pitching machine. Players in all three divisions will have the opportunity to pitch if they choose to, and players in Minors and Majors will have the option to play catcher.
Players should come in baseball clothes, and bring their baseball equipment – gloves are required, baseball shoes, bats, and helmets are optional (bring them if you have them.) Players who want to play catcher must wear a protective cup, and should bring catchers gear if they have it.
If you have any questions about evaluations or document verification, please contact the SSLL Player Agents at SSLLplayeragent@yahoo.com.
