SSLL Registration for 2012 Spring Season (revised 11/15/11)

Sunnyvale Southern Little League (SSLL) Baseball Registration is Open

REGISTRATION
Registration is a two-step process: online and in-person.

After registering online, please come in person to the second part of registration where we ask you to bring your child’s birth certificate and a utility bill showing proof of address. There are two separate code of conduct forms that must be signed (by parent and player).
  • Saturday, January 7, 2012, 10am – 2 pm: DeAnza Park Building
  • Tuesday, January 10, 2012, 6-8 pm: Round Table on Bernardo Ave.

PLAYER ELIGIBILITY
SSLL is open to players 4-18 years old as of April 30, 2012 and living within the Sunnyvale Southern Little League boundaries.

TEAMS & DIVISIONS

T-Ball
T-Ball is for 4-6 year old players. The players are taught the fundamentals in a supportive environment. All games are off the T. There is no score-keeping. Games are 3-innings or 1-hour, depending on which comes first. There is one practice in addition to one game per week.

Pioneer
Pioneer is for 6-8 year old players. We recommend that players have 1-year of T-Ball experience before signing up for the Pioneer Division. All games are 3-innings or 1-hour, depending on which comes first. Approximately half the games are off the T, and the other half are coach-pitched. There is no score-keeping. There are one-to-two practices and games per week.

Farm, Minors, Majors For Farm, Minors, and Majors, skills and age will determine which division a player is assigned to. . All players are required to attend one or two Evaluation Clinics prior to the season starting. Coaches are responsible for proper placement of players. All 12-year olds will be assigned to Majors.

Farm
Farm is for 7-9 year old players with previous baseball experience. Players are evaluated prior to teams forming, and the games are semi-competitive. All games are 6-innings or 1.5 hours, depending on which comes first. There is a larger focus on defensive playing (fielding) and player pitching. Players will be introduced to player pitches. All games are live-pitched by coaches and players. There are typically a minimum of two practices and two games per week.

Minors
Minors is for 9-11 year old players with previous baseball experience. Players are evaluated prior to teams forming, and the games are moderately competitive. There is a minimum of two practices and two games per week.

Majors
All 12-year old players are assigned to the Majors Division unless waived by the President of Sunnyvale Southern Little League. Players are evaluated prior to teams forming, and the games are highly competitive. There are a minimum of two practices and two games per week.


PARENT PARTICIPATION
Each child playing is required to have an adult family member volunteer at the Snack Shack for two (2) shifts during the regular season. (For additoinal siblings, an adult famly member is required to volunteer at the Snack Shack for 2 additional shifts per player.)

Each child participating in post-seasons games, tournaments, and All Stars is required to have an adult family member volunteer at two ADDITIONAL Snack Shack shifts in the post-season session.

Baseball Boundaries
To be eligible to play in the Sunnyvale Southern Little League, you must live within the following boundaries (Note: the boundaries are roughly defined by the following):
  • Here is a map of the boundaries.
    • El Camino and Old San Francisco Rd on the North
    • Fremont Ave on the South
    • Highway 85 on the West
    • Fair Oaks/Rembrandt and DeAnza Blvd on the East
