Little League "tryouts" are really player evaluations. Player
evaluations are held so that teams can be balanced. Managers and board
members observe the players so that teams can be selected with a good
mix of pitchers, fielders, and hitters. Player evaluations never cause
players to be excluded from teams.
Players should attend both evaluation sessions. If a player doesn't
attend at least one evaluation session, that player is not eligible for
the season's draft and will be placed on a waiting list. If roster
spots are open after all eligible players have been assigned to teams,
players on the waiting list will be assigned to the remaining spots.
Age ranges reflect
"Little League" ages, and indicate a player's age
as of April 30 of the current year.
Please come 1/2 hour
before the scheduled time, and check in with the SSLL board member.
